Summary
We don't store the content of your meetings. Audio is transcribed in transit and never kept on our servers. Transcripts and minutes live only on your Mac.
There are no accounts: the app never asks for your name, email or a password.

What data is processed and where it goes
1. Meeting audio
Only while you record, the app sends system and microphone audio, encrypted (TLS), from your Mac to our relay server (the “proxy”). The proxy forwards it in real time to Deepgram, Inc. (USA) for transcription and returns the text. The proxy does not store audio: it only counts how many seconds pass through, to measure your usage.
Deepgram processes the audio under its own terms. [VERIFY: Deepgram retention and whether its model improvement programme is opted out (mip_opt_out)]
2. Transcript text
To write the minutes, the “Catch me up” summary, Ask Anything answers and translations, the app sends the text needed —excerpts of the transcript or your minutes, plus your question— through the proxy to OpenAI (USA). The proxy does not store that text or the reply: it only counts tokens used, to measure your usage.
OpenAI processes this data under its API terms. [VERIFY: OpenAI API retention period and confirmation it is not used for training]
3. Your meeting files
Transcripts, minutes, translations and the index Ask Anything uses are stored only on your Mac, in the folder you choose in Settings → Storage. We have no access to them. If that folder syncs to a cloud service (e.g. iCloud), that service's policy applies; the app warns you so you can pick another folder.
4. What our server keeps
For each activated copy of the app, the proxy keeps only:
- A service token: a random identifier the app receives on activation.
- A device identifier: a random value generated by the app. It is not your serial number and is not derived from your hardware.
- The activation code state: whether it was redeemed and when it expires.
- A content-free usage counter: seconds of audio per channel, text tokens processed, estimated cost and the subscription expiry date.
Server logs contain the truncated token, bytes and duration of each session; never audio or text. The server is hosted by [PROVIDER: Railway] in the USA. These data are backed up daily and each copy is kept for [30] days.
5. Purchase and activation code
Payment is handled by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your card details. To send you the activation code we use [VERIFY: which contact detail is used to send the code, where it comes from and how long it is kept]. If you write to support, we keep that conversation as long as needed to help you.
6. What we don't do
- We don't create accounts or ask for email, name or password in the app.
- We use no analytics, advertising or trackers in the app or on this website. This site sets no cookies.
- We don't sell or share data with third parties, other than the providers named above to deliver the service.
Legal basis and transfers
We process these data to provide the service you pay for. [LEGAL BASIS per COUNTRY/JURISDICTION]. Deepgram, OpenAI and the server are in the USA; transfers rely on [TRANSFER MECHANISM].
Recording other people
You are responsible for telling participants that the meeting is being transcribed and for complying with applicable law. In many places the law requires that they know.
Deletion
- One meeting: open it, press Delete and type “delete”. All its files are erased from your Mac.
- Everything: from within the app you can erase all local data —meetings, credentials stored in the keychain and preferences. [VERIFY: exact location of full delete in the app]
- On our server only the content-free usage counter remains. To remove the token and counter too, write to soporte@fadenoapp.com.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability by writing to soporte@fadenoapp.com. You can also complain to [SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY].
Children
The app is not directed at children under [AGE].
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
